ITAC Bringing the 2026 International Indigenous Tourism Conference to Edmonton

Treaty 6 Territory, home to many Nations including, Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Sioux and Métis People (Amiskwacîwâskahikan/Edmonton, AB) – The 2026 International Indigenous Tourism Conference (#2026IITC) will be hosted by the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) and in partnership with Indigenous Tourism Alberta, Explore Edmonton, and Travel Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, from February 17 to 19, 2026.

IITC brings people together in the spirit of learning and inspiration. As the largest Indigenous tourism conference in the world, IITC contributes significantly toward advancing the Indigenous tourism industry.

“Edmonton has the second-largest Indigenous population in Canada and is a growing hub for Indigenous tourism experiences, making it a perfect co-host for the 2026 International Indigenous Tourism Conference,” said Keith Henry, President & CEO of the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada. “With a strong Indigenous presence, rich cultural experiences, and a commitment to reconciliation through tourism, Edmonton provides an ideal setting to bring together member businesses, industry leaders, partners, and entrepreneurs to help drive the growth of Indigenous tourism across Canada.”

ITAC organizes the successful event annually. For the past 12 years, it has been delivered in partnership with various regional Indigenous tourism organizations and other regional and national supporting tourism organizations. IITC has previously been held in Manitoba, Québec, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Ontario.
