EDMONTON – Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson celebrated the hands-on experience several cabinet ministers will be bringing to portfolios touching Alberta’s largest cities.
“It’s spectacular Diana McQueen has been named to municipal affairs. She’s a hard worker. I met her when she was mayor of Drayton Valley. She’s well-regarded in the community,” he said, following news of the new cabinet appointments Monday.
“Having someone with that experience in the file is really going to make a difference. She’s senior. She’s effective and she has municipal experience. I like her and I’m looking forward to working with her.”
As for former Edmonton mayor Stephen Mandel taking on the Health file: “He’s a brave, brave person taking on that portfolio.”
