John wins Atlantic Aboriginal Entrepreneur Award – NL News Now

It was a proud moment for the residents of Conne River in general and for Marilyn John in particular as she was named the Female Lifetime Achievement Ward winner at the 7th annual Atlantic Aboriginal Entrepreneur Awards Show.
The Ulnooweg Development Group (UDG), an association that promotes and stimulates growth in Aboriginal businesses and communities, hosted the awards dinner that was held at Membertou, Nova Scotia on September 16.
Christopher Googoo, the General Manager with the UDG said Ms. John was nominated by her community and is very deserving to be named the winner in her category.
“Her video profile showed very clearly how Ms. John has been a successful entrepreneur for the past 23 years. She has displayed a wonderful dedication to her business and her employees over that time period,” Googoo said in an interview with the Advertiser on September 18.
