175 km road would connect Voisey’s Bay to Lac Brisson, Que.
The CEO of a Quebec-based critical minerals company says building a road between Lac Brisson, Que. and Voisey’s Bay in northern Labrador will unlock new potential for the region — but the area’s MHA disagrees.
Torngat Metals CEO Yves Leduc said the project, known as Strange Lake, would put a 175-kilometre road between Voisey’s Bay and a Quebec mine, that will help get ore to a port facility in Sept-Îles.
The route was changed following consultation with the Nunatsiavut government, he said, adding he has been in contact with six Indigenous communities in Labrador about their vision.
