Lawyer slams BC’s Indigenous reconciliation laws as confusing, ‘unworkable’ and vague –

Former senior government counsel Geoff Moyse joined NowMedia video host Jim Csek to discuss the BC NDP’s Indigenous Reconciliation agenda, exploring its legal roots, political motivations, and real-world implications for British Columbians.

In the interview Moyse, expressed concerns about the province’s adoption of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the way it relates to law in British Columbia.

The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (UNDRIP) was adopted about 18 years ago. British Columbia adopted UNDRIP as law under the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) in late 2019.
