The Alluriarniq Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and delivery of the Alluriarniq Program at Tungasuvvingat Inuit, which focuses on providing culturally informed services for Inuit who are affected by trafficking, sexual exploitation, or related challenges. Reporting to the Director of Community Services, the Alluriarniq Manager ensures that program objectives align with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic goals, delivering high-quality, culturally relevant services to support the well-being of the Inuit community.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have knowledge of Inuit culture, values, traditions, and IQ principles, ability to work effectively with Inuit communities, understanding the historical and social factors that impact Inuit clients, especially in the context of trafficking and exploitation. Skills in providing services that respect and integrate Inuit cultural practices, including language, customs, and spiritual beliefs. Strong understanding of trauma-informed, client-centered care, especially for vulnerable populations. Awareness of mental health challenges and the impact of trauma on Inuit clients.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure or crisis situations, crisis intervention skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, active listening skills, conflict resolution skills, proficiency in proposal Writing, Fund Development, Data Collection and Reporting. Trauma-Informed Care – expertise in trauma-informed practices, strong relationship building skills.
The ability to inspire, lead, and motivate a team, competence in reporting, adapt to changing circumstances, oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Alluriarniq Program. Competence in managing multiple priorities, projects and initiatives, advocate for clients, approach challenges with creativity and resourcefulness.
Completion of community college is required and an undergraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field is preferred. Two plus years’ experience in Anti-trafficking or Victim Services, Proposal and Report Writing and Collaboration with External Partners is required.
Three plus years’ experience in Indigenous and Inuit Communities, Leadership experience in Social Services, Crisis Management and Case Management is required.
Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, video-conferencing platforms and electronic records management applications is required. Clear Vulnerable Sector Check with results acceptable to TI is required. Fluency in English is required and the ability to communicate in Inuktitut is a significant asset.
The candidate works in a comfortable TI’s office environment. The Alluriarniq Program Manager will partition their time both in and outside the office as circumstances dictate, including accompanying street Outreach Workers when necessary. Evening work is required, as is the need to be on-call on a rotational basis to support the team in their work.
