Press Release

May 27, 2025

The Manitoba government is pleased to welcome attendees to Winnipeg for Rendez-vous Canada (RVC) 2025, Canada’s annual international tourism event that connects international travel operators with the tourism industry, Sport, Culture, Heritage and Tourism Minister Nellie Kennedy announced today.

“We’re excited to welcome 1,500 guests from all over the world and across Canada to Manitoba for Rendez-vous 2025 from May 27 to 30, where they will experience our province as a must-visit destination,” said Kennedy. “This event creates an incredible opportunity to connect global travel operators with the best experiences, cultures, food and communities that make Manitoba a top-tier destination on the world travel stage. Manitoba is not only showcasing the diverse experiences Canada has to offer but also building lasting partnerships that will drive sustainable growth and innovation to our visitor economy.”

RVC 2025 is projected to generate approximately $4.6 million in direct and indirect revenue for Winnipeg and Manitoba, support 24 jobs and contribute $290,000 in provincial tax revenue, noted the minister. Beyond these short-term economic benefits, the event is also expected to generate millions in future travel sales in Manitoba, added Kennedy. RVC 2024, held last May in Edmonton, generated an estimated $65 million in sales.

This event is estimated to draw 1,500 people including those from Mexico, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, the United States, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Additional delegates will be attending from Belgium, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Denmark, India, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland.

“Rendez-vous Canada is an opportunity for us to showcase the incredible experiences we have here in Manitoba and what makes us unique in the world,” said Cody Chomiak, vice-president of marketing, Travel Manitoba, and co-chair of the local RVC host committee. “We get to celebrate what truly makes our province incredible to buyers from around the world while also showcasing the warmth and hospitality of those who live here.”

The RVC host team has collaborated with Indigenous Tourism Manitoba and Manito Ahbee to ensure Indigenous protocols and expertise are included throughout the event, added the minister.

Rendez-vous Canada has been held for nearly 50 years to help increase visitors and visitor spending in Canada. The annual event highlights Canada’s vibrant culture, natural beauty and unique experiences to the global travel market, noted the minister. Travel Manitoba and Tourism Winnipeg are co-organizing the event locally and hosting familiarization tours before and after RVC to showcase some of Manitoba’s best tourism destinations, including Churchill, Riding Mountain National Park, the Interlake, Winnipeg and the Winnipeg River.
