Press Release

December 9, 2025

The Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Bouchier and with support from the Governments of Alberta and Canada, is proud to announce the inaugural Her Leadership Journey: Keynote Dinner & Fireside Conversation, taking place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Fort McMurray Golf Club.

Chamber President & CEO Dianna de Sousa notes: “This event marks a powerful moment for our region. Her Leadership Journey is more than a dinner, it’s the beginning of a long-overdue platform to celebrate, elevate, and invest in women’s leadership in Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo. We are honoured to welcome Roberta Jamieson as our inaugural keynote, a trailblazer whose influence has shaped conversations across Canada. This is the start of something meaningful, and we are proud to bring it to our community.”

Roberta Jamieson, O.C., I.P.C., LLB, LLD (Hon) is a nationally recognized champion for Indigenous rights and inclusive leadership. Jamieson is celebrated for her long and groundbreaking career as a trailblazer in public service and advocacy.

Following her keynote address, Jamieson will join Nicole Bouchier, Co-Owner & CEO of Bouchier, and Shelley Powell, Senior Vice-President of Suncor, for an intimate fireside conversation moderated by Dianna De Sousa. The discussion will explore their personal leadership journeys, the barriers they’ve navigated, the moments that shaped their rise, and the mentors and allies who supported them along the way.

“Empowering women in leadership is not only about breaking barriers, but about building a community where every woman’s story, strength, and resilience are celebrated and heard. Together, we are creating a future where women lead with confidence, courage, and unwavering support,” said Nicole Bourque-Bouchier, Co-Owner and CEO of Bouchier.

As the presenting partner, Bouchier’s support underscores the company’s commitment to advancing leadership, empowering women, and championing the stories that shape the future of Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo. Additional partners include the Governments of Alberta and Canada.

The event will bring together leaders from industry, business, government, Indigenous communities, and the nonprofit sector for an evening of inspiration and connection. Guests will enjoy a welcome reception, keynote program, fireside conversation, and networking dinner.

Tickets are now available on the Chamber’s event calendar, and partnership opportunities are open for organizations looking to support this inaugural event.
