Peter Milobar says online uproar over his wife’s Indigenous heritage does not match what he’s hearing from B.C. Conservative Party members on the campaign trail.
The Kamloops-Centre MLA, who is in the home stretch of a race to be party leader, pushed back hard on Saturday night when a fellow candidate suggested his family puts him in a conflict of interest on First Nations issues.
Rival Kerry-Lynne Findlay said during the televised Global News debate that Milobar might be constrained by conflict of interest rules because his wife is Indigenous and has been employed by a local First Nation.
