City official calls it ‘a win-win for the city’

The North Slave Métis Alliance in the N.W.T. is looking to partner with the City of Yellowknife on a copper recycling and diversion program.

The initiative, which the North Slave Métis Alliance (NSMA) inherited as part of the Diavik Diamond mine closure, would allow Yellowknife residents to recycle copper wires and cords at locations around Yellowknife.

The city would provide designated spots where the NSMA could set up copper recycling stations, including at the city’s solid waste facility.
