March 12, 2014
The Department of Community and Government services defended its capital budget at the Nunavut legislative assembly March 11.
CGS expects to spend $32.7 million on infrastructure during the 2014-15 fiscal year.
That’s $72 million less than what the department’s revised capital spending estimate amounted to last year.
Of the new funding, Gjoa Haven’s hamlet office will be renovated at a cost of $2.7 million, and Hall Beach will get a new fire hall for $2.5 million.
