Cowichan Tribes takes over Duncan casino
Cowichan Tribe’s business arm, Khowutzun Gaming Corp., has taken full ownership of the Chances Cowichan casino.
The corporation had been in a joint-venture partnership with the Duncan Dabber Bingo Society for the past 20 years to operate the casino at 436 Casino Way.
The acquisition was celebrated with a ceremony on Friday, where Duncan Dabber Bingo Society president Roy Davies passed over an oversized bingo dabber to Cowichan Tribes chief Cindy Daniels. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
