Johnny Mike, Andrew Nakashuk and Nathaniel Julai Alikatuktuk form three-way race

Two candidates running for Pangnirtung in the territorial election cited poverty and jobs as being among the most pressing issues in the community, where there is no incumbent MLA.

Candidate Johnny Mike said 800 children are born every year in Nunavut, but the GN is only building 300 public housing units annually.

He said that stakeholders and co-management partners are “really going to have to focus on how to deliver a stable food security” and address the lack of housing.
