Prentice’s receipts from time as aboriginal affairs minister destroyed … – Edmonton Sun
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling for answers around the destruction of PC leadership candidate Jim Prentice’s federal expense reports.
Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development destroyed receipts from Prentice’s expenses under the Multi-Institutional Disposition Authorities,’ despite the fact that documents from a ministers’ office are exempt. Prentice was minister for the federal department in 2006.
“The destruction of Mr. Prentice’s expense receipts concerns us greatly,” said CTF Alberta Director, Derek Fildebrandt. “We live in the digital age, there’s no reason why these documents couldn’t have been scanned, put on the website and retained, rather than shredded.”
Prentice said Monday though he is no longer with the federal government, he was always proactive with the disclosures of expenses.
