INUVIK, NT, May 30, 2014 – On 30th May 2014, the Environmental Impact Review Board (EIRB) issued a revised draft Terms of Reference (ToR) for the proposed Beaufort Sea Exploration Joint Venture Drilling Program and associated support activities that would result in the drilling of one or more deep exploration wells in the Beaufort Sea. This development is proposed by Imperial Oil Resources Ventures Limited (IORVL) on behalf of the Beaufort Sea Exploration Joint Venture which represents I0RVL, ExxonMobil Canada and BP Exploration Operating Company.
In a letter to the Developer dated today, the EIRB requests that the Developer provide, to the EIRB by June 20, 2014, confirmation on the timing for the Developer to file: the information to address the deficiencies outlined in the letter ofDecember 23, 2013, and; the identification and description of any project components and activities, not yet identified or adequately described. The next steps required to finalize the Terms of Reference will be determined following receipt of the response from the Developer.
