When the House reopens for business later today, MPs will get their first chance to go on the parliamentary record with their thoughts — and, where applicable, concerns — about the minority Liberal government’s long-promised plan to add new restrictions for granting bail for violent and repeat offenders, as well as increase potential sentences for those crimes, which was introduced by Justice Minister Sean Fraser last week, and is now poised to make its second-reading debut. (3 p.m.)

Later today, rookie Liberal MP Braedon Clark will launch the opening round of debate on his backbench pitch to develop a “national strategy on housing for young Canadians.”
