Labour Force Survey, July 2017
Following two months of notable increases, employment was little changed in July (+11,000 or +0.1%). As the number of people searching for work edged down, the unemployment rate declined by 0.2 percentage points to 6.3%. This is the lowest rate since October 2008, just prior to the onset of the 2008-2009 labour market downturn.
Canadian international merchandise trade, June 2017
Canada’s merchandise trade balance with the world posted a $3.6 billion deficit in June, widening from a $1.4 billion deficit in May. Exports fell 4.3% while imports edged up 0.3%.
Chain Fisher real export and import values, June 2017
The monthly chain Fisher real dollar values (reference year 2007) for Canadian international merchandise trade are available for June.
Export and import price indexes, June 2017
Current-weighted and fixed-weighted export and import price indexes (2007=100) on a customs or balance of payments basis are now available, based on the 2007 North American Product Classification System.
Farm product prices, June 2017
Prices received by farmers in June for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, potatoes, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs and dairy products are now available at the provincial level in CANSIM.
Symmetric Input-output Tables, 2010 to 2013
The national symmetric input-output tables for 2012 and 2013 are now available. The tables for 2010 and 2011 have also been revised to incorporate enhanced detail.
Sawmills, May 2017
Lumber production rose 5.6% from April to 6 100.0 thousand cubic metres of lumber in May. Production was 5.8% higher than May 2016.
