National balance sheet and financial flow accounts, third quarter 2020
National net worth, the sum of national wealth and Canada’s net foreign asset position, increased $572.6 billion from the previous quarter to $13,236.9 billion in the third quarter.
Pension Satellite Account, 2019
The pension wealth of Canadians grew 10.4% in nominal terms in 2019, increasing to $4,250 billion by the end of the year after slower growth in 2018 (+0.7%). This faster pace of growth was predominately due to gains in equity markets, which impacted the market value of assets. By the end of 2019 the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and Standard & Poor’s 500 (S&P 500) increased by 19.1% and 28.9%, respectively, a rebound from the end of 2018 when markets sharply declined.
Industrial capacity utilization rates, third quarter 2020
Canadian industries operated at 76.5% of their production capacity in the third quarter, up from 70.7% in the previous quarter. This third quarter gain was led by increases in the manufacturing and construction sectors.

According to flash estimates, the Industrial Product Price Index decreased 0.6% in November.
Retail Commodity Survey, September 2020
Retail sales reached $55.2 billion dollars in September, an increase of 8.0% compared with the same month a year prior. This marked the fourth consecutive increase in year-over-year sales for the sector. Higher sales were reported in 13 of the 19 commodity categories.
