Canada’s international transactions in securities, October 2016
Foreign acquisitions of Canadian securities amounted to $15.8 billion in October, mainly Canadian corporate debt securities. At the same time, Canadian investors added $2.1 billion of foreign securities to their holdings, led by acquisitions of US corporate instruments.
Canada’s natural resource wealth, 2015
The value of Canada’s natural resource assets stood at $287 billion in 2015, down 73% from 2014, largely due to lower energy prices. This decrease followed a 28% increase in 2014.
Households and the Environment Survey, 2015
In 2015, 69% of households in Canada reported that they drank primarily tap water at home, up slightly from 2013. Bottled water as the main type of drinking water in the home was reported by 19% of Canadian households in 2015, down from 23% in 2013 and continuing the downward trend from 30% in 2007.
Air fares, first quarter 2016
Total air fares, domestic and international combined, averaged $225.70 in the first quarter, down 8.8% from the same quarter in 2015 and continuing the downward trend that began in the second quarter of 2015.
Cement, October 2016
Cement manufacturers produced 1.27 million tonnes of cement products in October, up 3.2% from September and 0.3% higher than October 2015.
