Labour Force Survey, November 2020
Employment rose by 62,000 (+0.3%) in November, following an increase of 84,000 (+0.5%) in October. From May to September, employment grew by an average of 2.7% per month.
Canadian international merchandise trade, October 2020
In October, Canada’s merchandise exports increased 2.2% and imports rose by 1.9%. As a result, Canada’s merchandise trade deficit with the world was virtually unchanged at $3.8 billion in October.
Canadian international trade in services, October 2020
Canada’s monthly international trade in services deficit narrowed from $72 million in September to $55 million in October. Overall, exports of services increased 1.9% to $9.3 billion, and imports were up 1.7% to $9.4 billion.

Potato production by farmers drops in 2020
Canadian seeded area declined 1.4% from 2019 to 357,085 acres in 2020, the result of a decrease in demand at processing plants due to the closure of restaurants and bars during the early stages of the pandemic.

Asphalt roofing material, October 2020
Shipments of asphalt shingles totalled 3.8 million metric bundles in October−up 11.2% from the previous month and up 122.5% from October 2019.
