Study: Portrait of the Chinese populations in Canada
This portrait analyzes the sociodemographic and ethnocultural diversity and socioeconomic outcomes of the Chinese populations in Canada. The portrait uses data from the censuses of population, the General Social Survey, the Labour Force Survey and the Canadian Survey on Disability. An intersectional approach is used to explore the relationships between multiple diversity measures.
Earnings and mobility indicators for newly certified journeypersons in Canada, 2023
In 2023, median employment income one year after certification reached $58,090 for newly certified journeypersons, an increase of 1.8% (+$1,080) from the previous year. This gain brings median employment income to the highest level observed for this group since the start of the series in 2008.
Canadian business counts, December 2025
In December, there were 1.37 million employer businesses in Canada and 3.67 million non-employer businesses with annual revenues greater than $30,000.
New motor vehicle sales, December 2025
There were 127,248 new motor vehicles sold in Canada in December, decreasing 6.1% from December 2024. In dollar terms, sales decreased 7.4% in December 2025 compared with one year earlier. Over the same period, sales of new passenger cars fell by 20.2%, while sales of new trucks saw a smaller decline of 4.2%.
