Canada’s demand for electricity totalled 49.5 million megawatt hours (MWh) in December, down 6.8% from the same month in 2014. Unseasonably warm weather in most of the country contributed to the decline in demand.
Registered retirement savings plan contributions, 2014
Contributions to registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs) totalled $38.6 billion in 2014, up 3.2% from 2013. Data are based on tax returns filed for 2014.
Investment income, 2014
Both the number of taxfilers reporting investment income and the amount of reported investment income increased in 2014, but at a slower pace than in the previous year. Investment income refers to the sum of dividend income from taxable Canadian corporations and interest income from investments in non-tax-sheltered vehicles.

Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index, January 2016
The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) increased 3.6% in January, as a result of a 4.4% gain in the couriers component. This rise largely reflected the annual increase in base prices by major companies that typically occurs in January.
Computer and peripherals price indexes, January 2016
In January, prices for commercial computers increased 0.7% from December and prices for computers sold to consumers decreased 1.0%. In the case of computer peripherals, monitor prices rose 1.8% and printer prices were down 0.4%.
Commercial Software Price Index, January 2016
The Commercial Software Price Index (CSPI) increased 1.2% in January compared with the previous month.
