Consumer Price Index, December 2016
The Consumer Price Index rose 1.5% on a year-over-year basis in December, following a 1.2% increase in November. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index was up 0.3% in December, after decreasing 0.1% in November.
Consumer Price Index: Annual review, 2016
In 2016, the annual average increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 1.4%. This increase followed gains of 1.1% in 2015 and 2.0% in 2014.
Retail trade, November 2016
Retail sales rose for the fourth consecutive month, edging up 0.2% to $45.2 billion in November. Higher sales at motor vehicle and parts dealers and building material and garden equipment and supplies dealers were the main contributors to the gain.
Investment in new housing construction, November 2016
Investment in new residential construction totalled $4.5 billion in November, up 4.1% from November 2015.
Pipeline transportation of oil and other liquid petroleum products, November 2016
Opening inventories of crude oil and equivalent products held in pipelines and terminals totalled 12.2 million cubic metres in November.
