Manufacturing sales declined 1.0% to $49.9 billion in May, the third decrease in five months.
Annual Survey of Manufacturing and Logging Industries, 2014
Total revenue of Canadian manufacturers grew 4.6% in 2014 to $665 billion.
Logging, 2014
Total revenues for the logging industries increased 4.6% from 2013 to $10.3 billion in 2014. Logging (except contract) accounted for $5.0 billion of this amount, while contract logging generated over $5.3 billion.
Investment in non-residential building construction, second quarter 2016
Investment in non-residential building construction increased 0.2% to $12.6 billion in the second quarter, following five consecutive quarterly declines. Nationally, the growth was a result of higher spending on the construction of commercial buildings and, to a lesser extent, industrial buildings.
Quarterly Retail Commodity Survey, first quarter 2016
Retail sales totalled $113.6 billion in the first quarter, up 5.4% from the same quarter of 2015. Higher sales were reported in 9 of the 10 major commodity groups.
New Lending Services Price Index, first quarter 2016
The New Lending Services Price Index increased 2.7% in the first quarter, following no change in the previous quarter. Yields on Government of Canada securities continued to decline, while there was little change in lending rates in the first quarter. Variable-rate loans were the greatest contributor to the increase in the index.
