Gross domestic product by industry, April 2018

Real gross domestic product edged up 0.1% in April as 12 of 20 industrial sectors increased. After a decline in January, gross domestic product has risen every month since the beginning of 2018.

Principal field crop areas, June 2018

In 2018, farmers reported seeding less land to canola and soybeans than in 2017, according to the results of the June Field Crop Survey on seeded areas. However, the decrease of canola acreage reported by farmers in late May and early June for 2018 was not as significant as expected earlier in March, when snow was still on the ground.
