Gross domestic product, income and expenditure, fourth quarter 2018
Growth in real gross domestic product slowed to 0.1% in the fourth quarter, the slowest pace since the second quarter of 2016. Real gross national income fell 1.0%, largely owing to lower export prices of crude oil and crude bitumen. Final domestic demand was down 0.4% as investment continued to fall.
Gross domestic product by industry, December 2018
Real gross domestic product edged down 0.1% in December, the third decline in four months. The 0.7% decline in goods-producing industries more than offset the 0.2% gain in service-producing industries. Overall, 13 of 20 industrial sectors were up in December.

Annual Survey of Environmental Goods and Services, 2017
Canadian businesses sold $16.8 billion worth of environmental and clean technology goods in 2017, while sales of services accounted for $10.1 billion. If waste management services are included, the total revenue of environmental and clean technology services reached $17.9 billion.
Livestock estimates, January 1, 2019
Cattle and hog inventories were down on January 1 compared to January 1, 2018. This was the first year-over-year (from January to January) decrease for the hog inventories since January 2013. With the exception of a few small increases, cattle inventories have been declining since January 2005. Meanwhile, sheep inventories increased for the second consecutive year.
Quarterly capital spending: Oil and gas industries, fourth quarter 2018
Seasonally adjusted capital expenditures in the oil and gas extraction industries, including exploration and evaluation, declined 0.6% from the third quarter to $9.0 billion in the fourth quarter. For the full year, capital expenditures totalled $37.6 billion, down 11.6% from the $42.7 billion spent in 2017.
Open Database of Buildings, version 2.0
Version 2.0 of the Open Database of Buildings (ODB) is now available. The ODB is the result of an exploratory initiative aimed at enhancing the use and harmonization of open building data from municipal, regional and provincial sources.
New release dates for the publication of Canadian international merchandise trade data
Statistics Canada and the United States Census Bureau have identified March 27, 2019, as the new joint release date for the publication of international merchandise trade statistics for the January 2019 reference month. The release date for the December reference month remains March 6 as previously announced.
Salary and salary scales of full-time teaching staff at Canadian universities, 2011/2012 to 2015/2016 (final)
Final data are now available on full-time university academic teaching staff in public universities for the years 2011/2012 to 2015/2016 from the Full-time University and College Academic Staff System (FT-UCASS). A partial file of these data was released on September 24, 2018.
