Labour Force Survey, February 2026

Employment declined by 84,000 (-0.4%) in February and the employment rate fell 0.2 percentage points to 60.6%. The unemployment rate increased 0.2 percentage points to 6.7%.

Job vacancies after the peak—a look at the changing educational composition since 2022

In 2022, the number of job vacancies in Canada averaged 942,600, a record high since comparable data became available in 2015. The job vacancy rate reached a peak of 5.4% in 2022, while the unemployment rate dropped to a record low of 5.3%. During 2022, over 60% of all vacant positions required a high school diploma or less.

Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, January 2026

Infrastructure economic account, 2025

With today’s release of the Infrastructure Economic Account, estimates for investment, stock, average age and remaining useful service life, as well as economic and environmental impacts have been released for 2025. Investment, average age and the remaining useful life ratio has been updated for 2024 with the latest data from the Capital and Repair Expenditures Survey. The economic and environmental impact data for 2022 to 2024 have also been updated following the integration of new multipliers based on the 2022 supply and use tables. All the estimates released today are consistent with the release of the Income and Expenditure Accounts for the fourth quarter of 2025.

Non-profit organizations in rural and small town Canada, 2023

In 2023, 136,225 non-profit organizations (NPOs) were active across Canada, with 28,892 (21.2%) operating in rural and small town areas (areas located outside census metropolitan areas and census agglomerations) and 107,333 (78.8%) operating in functional urban areas (areas located inside census metropolitan areas or census agglomerations).

Crushing statistics of major oilseeds, Canada and United States, 2025

Canadian oilseed processors crushed a record 11.6 million tonnes of canola in 2025, up 1.6% from 2024, marking the third consecutive annual record. High levels of domestic crushing were likely attributable to a record canola harvest in 2025 (13.3% above 2024), combined with a drop in exports (12.5% lower than in 2024).
