Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, January 2019
Manufacturing sales increased 1.0% to $57.1 billion in January, following three consecutive monthly decreases. Higher sales in the food as well as the electrical equipment, appliance and component industries were the main contributors to the gains in January.

Refinery receipts of crude oil and refinery production decreased in December, while domestic sales of refined petroleum products increased compared with the same month in 2017.

The film, television, and video production industry reported $8.3 billion in operating revenue in 2017, up 22.6% from 2015. Businesses in British Columbia (40.2%), Ontario (32.9%) and Quebec (21.6%) generated most of the revenue in 2017.
