Retail trade, January 2026
Retail sales increased 1.1% to $70.7 billion in January. Sales were up in six of nine subsectors, led by increases at motor vehicle and parts dealers.
Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, February 2026
The Industrial Product Price Index increased 0.4% month over month in February and gained 5.4% year over year. Meanwhile, the Raw Materials Price Index increased by 0.6% month over month and rose 8.6% year over year.
New Housing Price Index, February 2026
The New Housing Price Index (December 2016=100) is now available for February.
Reconciliation Tables: From Public Accounts of Canada to the Government Finance Statistics, 2019 to 2022
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing a new experimental product that aims to restore the conceptual and quantitative reconciliation of official Canadian government finance statistics (CGFS) published by Statistics Canada with the Public Accounts of Canada, prepared by the Receiver General for Canada.
Use of minority official languages in the public sphere: new data tables, 2022
In 2022, 34% of French-speaking immigrants in Canada outside Quebec used French regularly (i.e., every day or a few times a week) in the public sphere, outside their work or home, with people other than their family or friends, compared with 53% of French-speaking non-immigrants. Overall, half (50%) of French-speaking adults in Canada outside Quebec used French regularly in the public sphere.
Urban public transit, January 2026
In January, urban transit ridership in Canada stood at 126.6 million passenger trips, down 4.1% from January 2025, or 5.4 million fewer trips.
