Building permits, January 2022
The total value of building permits decreased 8.8% to $10.1 billion in January. The residential sector fell 11.6% to $6.7 billion, while the non-residential sector declined 2.7% to $3.4 billion.
Mental health-related disability rises among employed Canadians during pandemic, 2021
Among the employed, the proportion with a mental health-related disability increased 2.3 percentage points from 2019 (6.4%) to 2021 (8.7%).
Labour productivity, hourly compensation and unit labour cost, fourth quarter 2021
Labour productivity of Canadian businesses decreased 0.5% in the fourth quarter, while hours worked increased slightly more than business output. This was a smaller decline in productivity than in each of the previous five quarters.
Canadian Tourism Activity Tracker, December 2021
In December, overall tourism activity in Canada was 29.1% below the level reached before the COVID-19 pandemic in December 2019. This was the seventh consecutive month of improvement since May and the highest level of activity since March of 2020.
