Labour Force Survey, February 2019
Employment grew for a second consecutive month, up 56,000 in February, driven by gains in full-time work. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.8% as the number of people searching for work held steady.
Industrial capacity utilization rates, fourth quarter 2018
Canadian industries operated at 81.7% of their production capacity in the fourth quarter, down from 82.8% in the third quarter. This was the second consecutive quarterly decline.
Multifactor productivity growth estimates and industry productivity database, 2017
Multifactor productivity, measured as output per unit of combined labour and capital inputs, rose 1.9% in the Canadian business sector in 2017, following no growth in 2016 and a 1.0% decline in 2015. The increase in 2017 reflected 3.7% growth in output and a 1.8% gain in the combined inputs of capital and labour.
Federal Patents, Licences and Royalties Survey, 2017/2018
Income from intellectual property commercialization, such as royalties, milestone payments, sale of intellectual property and other sources, increased 22.6% from 2015/2016 to $39.0 million in 2017/2018. This was the highest level of income reported since this data series began in 1997/1998.

Prices for architectural, engineering and related services declined 0.1% in the fourth quarter compared with the previous quarter, when there was no change.
