Labour Force Survey, February 2018
Employment was little changed in February (+15,000). The unemployment rate declined by 0.1 percentage points to 5.8%.
Industrial capacity utilization rates, fourth quarter 2017
Canadian industries operated at 86.0% of their production capacity in the fourth quarter, up from 85.1% the previous quarter. This was the sixth consecutive quarterly increase.
StatsCannabis data availability: Crowdsourced cannabis prices, February 2018
The average price of cannabis was $6.83 per gram, based on the information submitted by Canadians to the StatsCannabis crowdsourcing application from January 25 to February 28, 2018. This estimate includes prices from $2 per gram to $20 per gram; prices outside this range were treated as outliers.
Crude oil and natural gas: Supply and disposition, December 2017
Canada produced 22.4 million cubic metres (141.2 million barrels) of crude oil and equivalent products in December, surpassing the record high of 21.6 million cubic metres (135.6 million barrels) reported in August 2017.
Architectural, Engineering and Related Services Price Index, fourth quarter 2017
The Architectural, Engineering and Related Services Price Index (AESPI) showed no change in the fourth quarter, following a 0.3% increase in the previous quarter.
Real estate rental and leasing and property management industries, 2016
In 2016, lessors of residential and non-residential real estate and real estate property managers generated $102.1 billion in operating revenue, up 4.8% from 2015. These industries reported operating expenses of $66.6 billion, an increase of 4.5% over the previous year. The operating profit margin edged up from 34.6% in 2015 to 34.8% in 2016.
Performing arts, 2016
Performing arts companies generated $2.2 billion in operating revenue in 2016, up 5.8% from 2014. Operating expenses in this industry group increased by 5.4% over the two-year period to $1.9 billion, resulting in an operating profit margin of 12.0%.
