Gross domestic product, income and expenditure, first quarter 2019
Real gross domestic product grew 0.1% in the first quarter, the same growth rate as the fourth quarter of 2018. Real gross national income rose 0.9%, largely because of higher export prices of crude oil and crude bitumen.
Gross domestic product by industry, March 2019
Following a 0.2% decline in February, gross domestic product increased 0.5% in March as both goods- and services-producing industries increased. There were gains in 16 of the 20 industrial sectors.
Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, April 2019
The Industrial Product Price Index rose 0.8% in April, driven mainly by higher prices for energy and petroleum products. The Raw Materials Price Index increased 5.6%, primarily on the strength of higher crude energy product prices.
Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index, April 2019
The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) increased 0.7% in April, after posting no change in March.
Commercial Software Price Index, April 2019
The Commercial Software Price Index (CSPI) increased 0.1% from March to April.
Computer and peripherals price indexes, April 2019
The price of desktop and similar computers, laptop and tablet computers, and servers declined 0.1% in April.
Monthly Passenger Bus and Urban Transit, March 2019
Total operating revenues (excluding subsidies) for urban transit companies totalled $357.2 million in March.
Quarterly capital spending: Oil and gas industries, first quarter 2019
Seasonally adjusted capital expenditures in the oil and gas extraction industries, including exploration and evaluation, declined 4.8% from the fourth quarter of 2018 to $8.5 billion in the first quarter. This was the fifth consecutive quarterly decline.
