Labour Force Survey, April 2016
Following an increase in March, employment was virtually unchanged in April (-2,100 or 0.0%), and the unemployment rate remained at 7.1%.
Stocks of principal field crops, March 31, 2016
As of March 31, total stocks of wheat, canola and soybeans were lower compared with the same date in 2015. Meanwhile, total stocks of corn for grain, barley and oats increased year over year.
Consulting services, 2014
The management, scientific and technical consulting services industry group generated $18.9 billion in operating revenue in 2014, up 7.8% from 2013. Operating expenses grew 7.7% to $13.6 billion, resulting in an operating profit margin of 28.0%, up slightly from 27.9% in 2013.
Sawmills, February 2016
Lumber production by sawmills increased 1.8% from January to 5 627.9 thousand cubic metres in February. Compared with February 2015, lumber production rose 12.4%.
