Canada’s international transactions in securities, September 2019
Foreign investors acquired $4.8 billion of Canadian securities in September, all corporate securities. At the same time, Canadian investors reduced their holdings of foreign securities by $2.4 billion, led by a divestment in US instruments.

The commercial and industrial machinery and equipment rental and leasing industry generated $12.2 billion in operating revenue in 2018, up 4.9% from 2017. At the national level, this represented a full recovery from the 2015-2016 industry downturn, and is largely the result of strong performances in Ontario and British Columbia.
