Consumer Price Index, October 2018
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.4% year over year in October, following a 2.2% increase in September. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the CPI was up 0.3% in October, after declining 0.1% in September.
Retail trade, September 2018
Retail sales edged up 0.2% to $50.9 billion in September following a relatively flat August. The gain was led by food and beverage stores, while sales were down at gasoline stations. Excluding gasoline stations, retail sales rose 0.4%.
Investment in building construction, September 2018
Total investment in building construction increased 0.3% from August to $14.5 billion in September. Gains for the month were driven by growth in investment in the residential sector (+0.4% to $10.0 billion), while investment in non-residential building construction was unchanged at $4.5 billion.
Commercial and industrial machinery and equipment rental and leasing, 2017
Operating revenue for the commercial and industrial machinery and equipment rental and leasing industry rose 7.9% to $11.6 billion in 2017, following two years of decline.
Oilseed crushing statistics, October 2018
Oilseed processors crushed 786 770 tonnes of canola in October. Oil production totalled 338 867 tonnes, while meal production totalled 439 018 tonnes.

Data on major grain deliveries are now available for October.
Milled wheat and wheat flour produced, October 2018
Millers milled 265 623 tonnes of wheat in October, while wheat flour production totalled 206 625 tonnes.
