Following two consecutive months of growth, employment held steady in October. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.5%.

Building permits, September 2019
The total value of building permits issued by Canadian municipalities decreased 6.5% to $8.3 billion in September, largely due to declines in the residential sector. Gains were reported in four provinces, with the largest increase in Alberta (+7.2% to $1.0 billion).
Travel spending by visitors to Canada: Final indicators, 2018
Travellers spent $22.0 billion while visiting Canada in 2018. US residents spent the most money in Canada during the year, while spending by visitors from China was comparable to the amount spent by visitors from the United Kingdom and France combined.
Traveller Accommodation Services Price Index, third quarter 2019
The Traveller Accommodation Services Price Index (TASPI) rose 11.1% in the third quarter. The TASPI has increased in the third quarter every year since its inception, as higher seasonal demand typically drives up accommodation prices in the spring and summer.
