Consumer Price Index, September 2017
The Consumer Price Index rose 1.6% on a year-over-year basis in September, following a 1.4% increase in August. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index was up 0.2% in September, matching the increase in August.
Retail trade, August 2017
After increasing 0.4% in July, retail sales declined 0.3% in August to $48.9 billion. Sales were down in 8 of 11 subsectors, representing 57% of retail trade.
Investment in new housing construction, August 2017
New housing construction investment rose 5.8% from August 2016 to $5.0 billion in August, with gains reported for all building types.
Pipeline transportation of oil and other liquid petroleum products, August 2017
Pipelines received 22.2 million cubic metres of crude oil and equivalent products from Canadian fields and plants in August, up 7.7% compared with the same month in 2016. The vast majority (97%) originated in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
