Retail trade, August 2022
Retail sales increased 0.7% to $61.8 billion in August. Sales increased in 6 of 11 subsectors, led by sales in food and beverage stores (+2.4%) and motor vehicle and parts dealers (+0.6%).
Wholesale trade: Early indicator, September 2022
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the wholesale trade sector for September. The advance results for September indicate that wholesale sales fell 0.2%. The decrease reflects lower sales in the miscellaneous goods subsector.
New Housing Price Index, September 2022
New home prices in Canada declined 0.1% in September—the first decrease since November 2019. Prices were up in 3 of the 27 census metropolitan areas (CMAs) surveyed, unchanged in 16 and down in 8.
