The Consumer Price Index rose 1.3% in the 12 months to August, matching the increase in July. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index posted no change in August, after rising 0.2% in July.

Capital expenditures in the oil and gas extraction industry increased for the fourth consecutive year, rising 9.8% from 2013 to $80.7 billion in 2014. Operating expenditures were up 5.4% to $62.0 billion.

Crude oil and equivalent products production increased 7.4% from 2013 to 209.4 million cubic metres in 2014, the fourth consecutive annual increase in oil production.

The advertising, public relations and related services industry group reported $7.5 billion in operating revenue and $6.6 billion in operating expenses in 2013, resulting in an operating profit margin of 12.0%.
