Retail trade, July 2022
Retail sales decreased 2.5% to $61.3 billion in July, the first decline in seven months. Sales were down in 9 of 11 subsectors and were driven by lower sales at gasoline stations and clothing and clothing accessories stores.
Travel between Canada and other countries, July 2022
In July, while the number of international arrivals to Canada continued to increase, it remained below 2019 levels, before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Food services and drinking places, July 2022
On a seasonally adjusted basis, sales in the food services and drinking places subsector increased for the sixth consecutive month, rising by 0.4% to $7.1 billion in July. Sales were up at full-service restaurants (+0.4%), limited-service restaurants (+0.1%), special food services (+1.4%) and drinking places (+1.0%).

Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Flash estimate, August 2022
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for August. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales declined 1.8% in August. The largest decreases were in the chemical, primary metal and petroleum and coal product industries.
