Electric power statistics, October 2015
Canada’s demand for electricity declined 2.8% from the same month in 2014 to 40.7 million megawatt hours (MWh) in October. Meanwhile, electricity generation decreased 0.7% to 44.7 million MWh, largely driven by declines in Ontario.

The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 29.3 million tonnes in October, down 6.1% from the same month last year.

Among workers with annual earnings near the Canadian average, a $1.00 automatic increase in Registered Pension Plan (RPP) contributions results in an average reduction in Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) contributions of $0.55, thus increasing the sum of RPP and RRSP contributions by an average of $0.45 across workers with different propensities to save.

Oilseed processors crushed 691 136 tonnes of canola in November. Oil production totalled 297 651 tonnes, while meal production amounted to 387 333 tonnes.
