Canada’s balance of international payments, fourth quarter 2015
Canada’s current account deficit (on a seasonally adjusted basis) edged up $0.1 billion in the fourth quarter to $15.4 billion. In the financial account (unadjusted for seasonal variation), transactions in the other investment category, mainly in the form of currency and deposits, led the inflow of funds into the economy in the quarter.
Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, January 2016
The Industrial Product Price Index (IPPI) rose 0.5% in January, mainly as a result of higher prices for motorized and recreational vehicles. Lower prices for energy and petroleum products largely moderated the increase in the IPPI. The Raw Materials Price Index declined 0.4%, led by lower prices for crude energy products.
Canadian Survey on Disability: Seeing and hearing disabilities, 2012
Almost 3% of Canadians aged 15 years and older, or about 750,000 people, reported having a seeing disability that limited their daily activities.
Food services and drinking places, December 2015
Sales in the food services and drinking places subsector rose 1.2% from November to $5.1 billion in December. Prices for food purchased from restaurants were up 2.8% in the 12 months to December, the same increase as in the previous month.
Census of Trusteed Pension Funds, 2014
The value of employer-sponsored trusteed pension fund assets was $1.5 trillion in 2014, up 27.4% from $1.2 trillion in 2012. This compares with a 14.8% growth rate over the 2010 to 2012 period.
Aircraft movement statistics: Major airports, December 2015
Aircraft take-offs and landings at Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations decreased 7.1% in December from the same month the previous year.
Coal and coke statistics, December 2015
Monthly data for December on the production and export volumes of coal, by coal type and use, are now available. Data are available at the Canada level and by coal-producing province.
