Energy statistics, November 2021
Primary energy production remained high in November, at 1.9 million terajoules, up 2.4% year over year. Natural gas (+8.0%) accounted for most of the growth in primary energy production. Secondary energy production increased 4.3% year over year, mostly because of higher refinery production.
Retail Commodity Survey, November 2021
Retail sales reached $60.0 billion in November, an increase of 6.9% compared with the same month in 2020. Higher sales were reported in 15 of the 19 commodity classes.
Price trends in key Canadian housing markets, fourth quarter 2021
The Residential Property Price Index (2017=100) is now available for the fourth quarter of 2021.
Chicken production, 2021
Chicken production totalled 1.3 million tonnes in 2021, up 2.5% from 2020. Nearly 60% of the chicken produced in Canada came from Ontario (443 985 tonnes) and Quebec (340 626 tonnes).
Farm product prices, December 2021
Prices received by farmers in December for grains, oilseeds, specialty crops, cattle, hogs, poultry, eggs, and dairy products are now available at the provincial level.
