Energy statistics, March 2026
Primary energy production (+0.9%) increased year over year to 2.2 million gigajoules in March, with gains in five of the six subsectors. Secondary energy production rose 2.7% with refined petroleum products contributing the most to the increase.
Quarterly capital spending: Oil and gas industries, first quarter 2026
Capital expenditures in the oil and gas extraction industries totalled $10.2 billion in the first quarter of 2026, down 12.6% from the previous quarter.
