Registered apprenticeship training programs, 2015
Both the 2008-2009 recession and the more recent 2014-2015 oil price decline had a major impact on new registrations in apprenticeship training programs in Canada. This was especially true in Alberta, where new registrations fell in both periods.

Manufacturing is an important sector of the Canadian economy. Over much of Canada’s economic history, real output growth from manufacturing broadly kept pace with output growth from the business sector overall, as declines in some manufacturing industries were more than offset by growth in others.

Canadian manufacturers produced 1.9 billion cigarettes in May, up 21.7% from April. Cigarette production decreased 5.2% when compared to the same month a year earlier.
