Television broadcasting, 2017
Total operating revenues for the Canadian television broadcasting sector fell 4.8% from 2016 to $7.1 billion in 2017. Profits before interest and taxes rose 10.5% to $940.7 million in 2017.
Study: Employment rates and wages of core-aged workers in Canada and the United States, 2000 to 2017
A new Statistics Canada study shows that Canadian core-aged workers fared better than their American counterparts in both employment rates and wages from 2000 to 2017.
Sawmills, March 2018
Lumber production rose 11.4% from February to 5 897.7 thousand cubic metres of lumber in March. Production was 5.2% lower than in March 2017.
Asphalt roofing, April 2018
Shipments of asphalt shingles totalled 3.1 million metric bundles in April, down 23.7% from the previous month. Shipments were 0.5% lower compared with April 2017.
