Energy statistics, December 2025
Primary energy production reached 2.2 million terajoules in December, essentially unchanged from December 2024. Secondary energy production increased 3.1% with secondary electricity (+16.5%) leading the growth.

Capital expenditures in the oil and gas extraction industries totalled $11.6 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025, up 7.2% from the third quarter.
Screened passenger traffic at Canadian airports, January 2026
In January, 4.5 million passengers passed through pre-board security screening at checkpoints operated at Canada’s eight largest airports, up 5.1% from January 2025 and 4.0% above the pre-COVID-19 pandemic level in January 2020.
