Poultry and egg statistics, May 2019 and annual 2018
Data on stocks of frozen eggs and poultry meats as well as edible dried egg products are available for May 2019. Data on the placements of hatchery chicks and turkey poults are available for April 2019. Data on egg production are available for March 2019. Annual data on poultry and egg production are available for 2018.
Dairy statistics, March 2019
The total amount of milk sold off farms decreased 4.3% year over year to 761 843 kilolitres in March. Meanwhile, milk sold off farms for fluid purposes declined 5.3% to 222 252 kilolitres. Milk sold off farms for industrial purposes decreased 3.9% to 539 591 kilolitres.
Machinery and Equipment Price Index, first quarter 2019
The Machinery and Equipment Price Index (MEPI) increased 1.0% in the first quarter, following a 1.5% rise in the fourth quarter. The import component was up 1.0%, while the domestic component increased 0.8%.
Production and disposition of tobacco products, April 2019
Canadian manufacturers produced 1.8 billion cigarettes in April, down 10.4% from March. Cigarette production increased 11.3% compared with April 2018.
