Wholesale trade, September 2016
Wholesale sales decreased 1.2% to $56.0 billion in September, following increases in four of the previous five months. Declines were recorded in five subsectors, led by lower sales in the machinery, equipment and supplies and the miscellaneous subsectors.
Travel between Canada and other countries, September 2016
Residents of overseas countries made 541,000 trips to Canada in September, up 1.1% from August and 13.5% higher than the same month a year earlier. The figure for September was the highest since modern recordkeeping began in 1972.
Consumer goods rental sector, 2015
Operating revenue for the consumer goods rental and general rental centres industry groups increased 2.9% from 2014 to $2.6 billion in 2015. Operating revenue of consumer goods rental rose 3.9% from 2014 to $2.1 billion. This increase was slightly offset by a 1.4% decline in operating revenue at general rental centres to $471.0 million.
High-income trends among Canadian taxfilers, 2014
The average total income of the top 1% of Canadian taxfilers rose just under 0.4% from 2013 to $466,700 in 2014.
